Trip across the pond: July 19 & 20

Friday, July 19
It is still hot in Wales, so after lunch we decided to take Gruffy to Cardiff Bay.  It was a great afternoon of riding on the carousel, walking to Millennium Theatre (where Emma used to work), taking a boat ride around the bay, and eating ice cream.  Gruffydd especially loved the water taxi driver’s, he entertained everyone by walking up and down the aisle petting the pooch.

Mark and I made dinner tonight.  They have a lovely patio, so we decided it was time for grilled burgers and salad.  I made Luke his monster cookies for dessert.  He was off to bed early, since he had get up at 2:00am to drive to London.  He was helping Dave with the dogs at the Cricket match at Lords.

Saturday, July 20
A cooler day with a nice breeze and partly cloudy, much more like the Welsh weather we are used to.  Gruffydd seems a bit peaked today and since Emma was making an anniversary cake for a client, Lynne thought we should go to a park to play.  It is a very nice wooded area with play equipment and hiking trails.  We were only able to stay a short time, as Gruffy’s tummy was hurting.  He’s not eaten much, just wanting milk.

Luke came home exhausted, and needing a nap.  Lynne treated us all to Indian Cuisine.  She made Bombay potatoes and the rest was take-away from a local restaurant.  Mark and I like Indian food more and more.
TV at the hotel is not very good.  It is an extremely small screen with not much of a channel selection.  We have to pay extra to have Internet service.  Since it is quite expensive we’ve decided to wait until Sunday to purchase service for a week.
One night we tried to watch a movie I had downloaded into my iTunes account before we left home.  Unfortunately, we could not hear it just using my laptops speaker. We were desperate so tried plugging in my new stereo headphones and holding them so could both here.  Of course that was a dismal failure. We gave up and read instead.  Lynne has since given us a small speaker, which worked great.  As luck would have it- the movie was horrible, all that effort for nothing.
