Trip across the pond: July 17 & 18

Wednesday, July 17
Emma had an appointment today, so, Mark and I walked up to the nursery to pick up Gruffydd.  We gave him his presents, books from us and a bubble blower from Great-grandma. His reply “Wow books”; he used up all the bubble soap in a short time.  It is a lot easier carrying him down the hill, then up it.   Lots of play time and some lunch.  Emma took us all to Ebbw Vare to the outlet mall.  There is a nice play area and an Owl Sanctuary.  Gruffy is so intrigued with birds.  Mark put on a glove and was able to hold one of the owls. Two or three naps today for me not Gruffydd, every time I sat down I fell asleep, darn jet lag.  We went to the hotel early and actually had a good night’s sleep.

We slept until 8:30 today and went to the gym beside the hotel.  After our induction we only had 15 min. to exercise as Em was picking us up at 10:00.  We ran to Tesco’s to get supplies for Monster Cookies, Luke’s favorites and then to pick up Gruffy.  He saw us outside the gate and got scared because they made him move away so they could open it to let the parents in.  That upset the whole afternoon, so we watched a cute pirate movie until we all fell asleep.  I hope this is the end of the jet lag for me- surely my clock will reset soon.
It cooled off enough in the evening so we could have dinner outside on the patio.  Clive and Collette stopped by to say a quick hello. They are off to France tomorrow evening for a week.
I think this is the most relaxed I’ve been since January.  Feeling I’ve really accomplished something if I do one task a day- like dishes, or groceries.
