Week 2 Day 8 Wales

Week 2 Day 8
The weather is a little iffy today but Luke and Chris want to hike, so they had Dave leave them off at Pen y fan.  Everyone else hung out with Emma for a quiet day of videos and playing with Gruff.  Sarah and Louie plan on staying the week so they can have more time to visit with Emma and their nephew.

Ian picked Mark and I up and took us around the Welsh countryside. He is a wealth of knowledge, as he has worked in the forest service for years and traveled all around the area.    We toured the ruins of the 12th century Augustinian Priory at Llanthony and had lunch in the pub on the grounds.

Our last stop was Hay on Wye- a town full of bookstores.  This is right on the mark for me.  Every street is lined with little shops and lots of them are bookstores with new and used books.  So much fun!

Sarah and Louis treated us to an Indian take out feast for dinner.  Louis helped us decide on what to order- the only thing I recognized and knew I liked for sure was the garlic nan.  The food was excellent and we tried lots of new dishes.  I like Indian food more and more.
